THE YOGA OF RECOVERY
"THE EVOLUTION OF THE SOLUTION"
with Durga, Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist
at the Yoga Warehouse February 9-12
There are many similarities between the ethical
and lifestyle foundations of Classical Yoga and those
of the 12-Step Programs. Combining the Yogic psychology
of how to deal with the mind and the Yogic philosophy
of the Self with the practice of the 12-Step principles,
alongside an Ayurvedic lifestyle, offers a sure path
from self-destruction to Self-realization -- one day
at a time.
Thursday, February 9, 8-9pm
Free Introductory Talk, The Evolution of the Solution.
Durga will explain how the combination of three powerful

SPECIAL SATSANG with SRINIVASAN
Stories of Swami Vishnudevananda
Friday, February 24, 7-9pm
Swami Vishnudevananda, a disciple of Swami Sivananda
of Rishikesh, came to the West in 1956 and founded the
International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres. He was
a world-renowned authority on hatha and raja yoga and
a great yoga innovator who came up with the idea of
the yoga vacation, started the first yoga teacher training
course in the West and was a powerful advocate for world
peace. He also wrote the bestselling The Complete
Illustrated Book of Yoga, a source book for many
of today's yoga teachers.
Learn more about this fascinating pioneer of yoga in
the West from Srinivasan, who was a close disciple of
Swami Vishnudevananda and spent many years with him.
Srinivasan is the Acharya (spiritual director) of Sivananda
yoga centers and ashrams on the East Coast of the United
States (including the Yoga Warehouse) and directs the
Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Woodbourne, NY.

TEACHERS TRAINING COURSE!
at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Ranch, Woodbourne, New
York
March 18-April 15
Almost 30,000 yoga teachers have been certified by the
International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers since the
course began in 1969. Swami Vishnudevananda designed
the Teachers' Training Course to closely approach the
ancient Gurukhula System, in which the student's daily
life was itself an intensive Yoga training.
Swami Vishnu developed a curriculum based on an integration
of all aspects of Yoga and Vedanta from knowledge handed
down by his guru, the great master Swami Sivananda.
Vedanta teaches the essential unity of all beings, while
Yoga offers practical methods for attaining consciousness
of that unity.
The course covers Asanas, Pranayama, Meditation, Mantra
Chanting, Vedanta & Yoga Theory, Bhagavad Gita,
Mantra Meditation, Kriyas (cleansing exercises), Yoga
Diet, Anatomy & Physiology, and more. By the end
of the course, the beginner and advanced student alike
will possess a solid foundation for teaching Hatha Yoga,
will have developed a personal Yoga practice, and will
have increased self-discipline and harmony of body,
mind and spirit.
The course is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the
200 hour level. For more information, click
